Position Narrative

Learn and assist with operations, maintenance, and repair of water production, treatment, storage and distribution facilities and equipment. Work under the direct supervision of a Certified Water Works Operator until such time as certification can be obtained.

General Duties and Responsibilities

· Operate mechanical equipment under direct supervision of plant and field operators

· Operate electrical and electronic equipment such as motor controllers, automatic monitors, and chart recorders under direct supervision of plant and field operators

· Assist in logging production data

· Assist in the operations of distribution system maintenance activities

· Understand and abide by Corporation safety and operational policies

· Work in adverse weather conditions in order to maintain continuous supply of potable drinking water

· Assist in executing common tasks such as taps, meter sets, etc.

· Participate in maintenance of facilities and equipment

· Learn meter routes and assist in reading meters

· On call for emergencies

· Any other tasks as assigned

System Operator (C Surface Water)

Position Narrative

Field Operations Supervisor supervises and performs the essential duties associated with the operations, maintenance, and repair of water storage and distribution facilities and equipment. The Field Operations Supervisor is expected to maintain and function with comprehensive understanding of JWSC rules and policies, procedures, operations and maintenance manuals.

System Operators perform the essential duties associated with the operations, maintenance, and repair of water production, treatment, storage and distribution facilities and equipment. System Operators are expected to maintain and function with comprehensive understanding of JWSC policies, procedures, operations and maintenance manuals, and with limited supervision.

General Duties and Responsibilities

· Supervise others and operate electrical and electronic equipment such as motor controllers, automatic monitors, and chart recorders

· Determine proper chemical dosages and control chemical applications for various treatment process

· Monitor inventory of spare parts and status of equipment

· Ensure proper execution of all maintenance programs

· Perform certain laboratory analysis

· Assist in logging production data

· Assist in the operations of distribution system maintenance activities

· Understand and abide by Corporation safety and operational policies

· Maintain safe working environment in the field and in the plant

· Work in adverse weather conditions in order to maintain continuous supply of potable drinking water

· Supervise and assist in executing common tasks such as taps, meter sets, etc.

· Supervise and assist with maintenance of facilities and equipment

· Supervise and maintain meter routes and assist in reading meters

· Advise General Manager of any and all deficiencies or concerns

· Supervise Pump and Motor maintenance program

· On call for emergencies

-Monitors and uses the SCADA system.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
