What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Restocker position at Jonti-Craft, Inc.?
The Parts Restocker puts away all parts. Individual uses handheld pocket PCs to determine locations to pick or place parts. Works with Carting lead to determine preferred locations for all inventory produced.
Essential Functions
- Moves manufactured parts to storage area using push/pull cart.
- Works with Parts-Making to obtain and store parts in their proper preferred locations.
- Uses handheld pocket PCs to determine location of parts.
- Maintains familiarity with all location of zones.
- Recognizes parts and determines location to be placed.
- Ensures all parts are made to standards and coordinates with individuals Carting Manager and QA regarding any quality issues.
- Verifies proper parts counts and inventory control.
- Uses Fourth shift to consolidate parts and ensure maximum part storage.
- Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job.
Additional Functions
- Assists in parts picking when necessary.
- Helps to train new Parts Restockers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language for safety purposes in an understandable manner.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word. Ability to operate a pocket PC.
- Must be able to understand and comprehend grid areas and locations.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of Fourth Shift or the ability to learn it.
Working conditions
Our production environment is typical for wood manufacturing and includes a variety of environmental elements including loud noise, dust, and aromas. While this is an indoor operation, temperatures will vary with the outdoor temperature and some areas of the shop may be hot or cold. Individual may be subject to vibration. Individual is subject to moving mechanical parts, moving carts and/or heat.
Physical requirements
Production positions are physically demanding and may be strenuous. They are standing positions and include frequent walking, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds. There are a lot of body movements, including extending arms, grasping with hands, and flexing of wrists. There may be a lot of bending and twisting. Each position requires ongoing rotations of movements and individuals must have the physicality to perform the essential functions. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 150 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
