English Teachers: 5th - 8th grade PART-TIME

Are you passionate about teaching and looking to work Part-Time? Here at Joobilo Academic Community, we are looking for teachers who love to make learning fun!

Currently, we are looking for a part-time English teachers for our 5th through 8th-grade classes at our Whittier campus (All classes are IN PERSON)

Paid prep time and grading time additional

Candidates must have experience working with elementary or Jr. High-age students and be willing to teach in person. This position is for the rest of 2024-25 school year with the possibility to renew for the 25/26 school year.

Joobilo is a homeschool organization that offers various classes for students (K-12th grade) two/three days a week. Understanding of Classical Education a plus.

Responsibilities:
-Implement lesson plans and instructional activities in a fun and engaging way!
-Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines
-Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff
-Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with licensing guidelines and program policies
-Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the campus

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
-3 years of teaching experience; credential not required
-Highly developed oral and written communication skills

-Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment
-Experience developing and implementing curriculum
-Demonstrated ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
-Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students
-Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room

-Must be available Tuesdays

Compensation: BOE (starts at $23-28 per hour)
