Teachers are responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning.
To serve the children of the Joplin Schools by performing duties required for the efficient operation of the school. Persons holding this position are expected to perform their responsibilities in a manner conductive to building a positive school climate. Essential Functions:
An individual who holds this position is required to:
- Assists students and staff in locating and checking out various books and materials.
- Instruct students in keyboarding using technology.
- Preparing overdue lists and letters for materials that may be damaged and/or not returned in a timely manner.
- Evaluate and maintain the organization of all books and materials.
- Participate in needed training to fulfill job responsibilities and duties.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the building administrator consistent with law, policy, and regulation.

Conditions and Environment
The individual who holds this position will regularly work in a school environment that is noisy and active. Occasionally the individual will be required to work outdoors for short periods of time to perform such tasks as loading and unloading students from district transportation and supervising recess.
