Valid Texas certificate in appropriate area
Ability to work effectively between the school and community
Effective written & verbal communication skills
CPI certification once employed
The mission of this role:
Provides special education consultation and instruction to meet the need of eligible students with disabilities. Communicate with campus staff, district special education staff, and parents/guardians information pertaining to student needs (such as but not limited to: ARD paperwork, IEPs, BIPs and general progress).

- Develop and implement individual education programs for students eligible for special education.
- Prepare documents/assignments and attend ARD/IEP meetings for students on the case load.
- Complete local, state, and federal paperwork required for program participation.
- Develop instructional program for eligible students to achieve mastery of the transition annual goals that support post-secondary outcomes.
- Consult with campus staff and related services personal, such as OT/PT/VI/AT, to provide an appropriate education for eligible students.
- Provide appropriate behavior management techniques for eligible students.
- Implement 18 programming components in the area of adult living, vocational, recreation and leisure, and self-advocacy.
- Maintain student data records and charts for assessing student progress.
- Administer informal assessments to develop the PLAAFP and annual goals/objectives as indicated on student’s IEP.
- Retain appropriate documentation of skill development and mastery and report progress.
- Provide non-medical procedures such as tube feeding and other interventions as necessary for the student.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and outside agencies to support transition services.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student’s progress and needs/concerns.
- Oversee the responsibilities of the paraprofessional in implementing student programs.
- Provide care for students in the areas of self-help such as hygiene, toileting, and nourishment.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.
