Under the direction of the Director of Purchasing , a Buyer is responsible for ensuring that products are purchased at competitive prices, of acceptable quality, and maintained at reasonable inventory levels to support our distribution goals. This is a full-time, in-office position .
What Will You Be Doing?
- Locate sources of supply
- Obtain quotes and negotiate prices for products consistent with Jordano’s Food Service (JFS) quality standards
- Monitor inventory inquiries and levels daily
- Answer special order and product questions
- Responsible for item maintenance
- Maintain customer service level above pre-established levels
- Maintain obsolete inventory and shrink below pre-established levels
- Responsible for cost of products to ensure competitiveness
- Keeping the sales team informed about market conditions
- Coordination of new items with the Marketing team
- Additional duties as assigned
