Job Title: Contractor Sales Estimator
About the Position:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual wanting to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The industry is always in high demand of individuals with the willingness to implement fire life safety. Reporting to the Central Regional Manager, as a Contractor Sales Estimator at Jorgensen Company, you will be part of a team providing our customers with accurate and knowledgeable material cost estimates for a wide variety of projects in compliance with NFPA Standards, local, state fire codes and manufacturer component requirements. Responsibilities:
- Generate quotes for customers based on Plans, specifications or information from the customer in a timely manner.
- Being able to review blueprints/plans provided for the specific section to accurately quote material for job.
- Prepare product submittals
- Ability to accomplish accurate take-offs for all material quoting on job per each Section that is being quoted.
- Verify the correct components and/or specialty equipment and procure materials.
- Acquire pricing from vendors and or Distributors for all material.
- Provide scope of work clarification on quotes of the intent.
- Maintain logs for all jobs that are quoted and status of each job.
- Follow up on outstanding bids
- Provide updates to customers regarding pricing, questions or concerns on an as needed basis.
- Complete callbacks for all unsigned proposals timely and on a continuous basis to ensure there is complete communication.
- Working with other Jorgensen Company offices/management to keep them up to date with jobs being quoted or sold in their region.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to interpret construction blueprints and technical documents.
- Minimum of 2 years’ Fire Protection Industry experience (Preferred but not required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, fire department personnel, property owners, management companies, technicians and office staff.
- Highly motivated, self-directed and able to organize a workload.
- Ability to multitask and perform basic job functions in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Detail oriented
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Adobe and Outlook.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
