The start date of this position will be July 1, 2025. This is a 220 day contract. 

 

 

Rate of Pay: TBD for the 2025-2026 school year. Currently $106,411.36-$123,468.16, DOE 

 

Insurance: Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2,179 (based upon family coverage), TBD for 2025-2026. 

 

PERS Retirement: The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system. 

 

Retiree Benefits: An administrator who retires from KFCS and from PERS, with at least ten consecutive years of experience as an administrator in the district immediately prior to retirement, will receive the following retirement benefits: 

 

One percent (1%) of the administrator's final base salary per month for a total of eight-four (84) months. 

 

AND 

 

Medical insurance premiums for the administrator and spouse (if necessary) for a total of eighty-four (84) months. When an administrator retires, the District will contribute up to the employee only cap or the employee-spouse cap. Should the district contribution be insufficient to pay for the monthly cost of the insurance, then the parties agree that the excess insurance premium contribution will be made by the retiree.


This position provides support for programs and services operated by Klamath Falls City Schools in coordination with and under the direction of the Principal. The Assistant Principal will assist with activities related to instructional leadership, student and staff safety, staff evaluation, implementation of Special Education Services, transportation, state assessment, and professional learning.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Special Education Law and requirements
  • Hold or Qualify for an Administrative Licence
  • Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all training(s), certificate(s), approval(s), etc. and provide documentation before expiration date of said document(s).
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
  • Must have regular and reliable job attendance, performance, and the physical ability to complete all related tasks.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor, evaluate, and ensure facilitation, development, & implementation of quality instruction for all teaching staff in the classroom utilizing instructional best practices.
  • Support daily school operations and processes by providing classroom coverage and  supporting staff and students, as needed.
  • Participate in the school improvement and implementation teams to develop a clear plan for continuous improvement that is consistent with the district’s mission.
  • Provide a safe school environment in a climate of high expectations with an established program/routines that support and recognize habits of reflective practice for self, staff, students and parents.
  • Support positive behavior management strategies, restorative practices, and student discipline in alignment with district policies and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a strong dedication and related skills/knowledge for student-centered, trauma competent, teaching and learning which builds student, family and community connections.
  • Build strong relationships with families, community members, and external stakeholders to support student success and engagement
  • Foster an inclusive school culture that ensures equitable access to education for all students, including those from diverse backgrounds and those with special needs.
  • Work with district leadership and staff to use data, information, and research to set priorities, evaluate programming, and collaborate for improved results for students.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and support the development and implementation of quality instruction, student evaluations, IEPs, transition planning, and provision of a free appropriate public education.
  • Evaluate staff in accordance with state laws and district personnel evaluation policies.
  • Review teacher lesson plans/performance to ensure that all elements of the curriculum are taught in a trauma competent environment where all students experience safety and success.
  • Support school processes and routines that engage teachers/staff in consistent monitoring of student progress and evaluation practices, interventions, and improvement of instruction that meet the individualized needs of students and build relationships.
  • Oversee organization and administration of all standardized testing/ assessments.
  • Interact with co-workers, administration, students and parents in positive, supportive, trauma competent, and cooperative ways for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required of position.
  • Support school operations, including transportation logistics, state assessments, school events, staff hiring, and instructional planning.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required of the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Director of School Improvement or Director of Special Services. 
  • Know and follow all state and federal education laws, board policies, and district collective bargaining agreements.
