Requirements :
Summary of Functions :
Lead effective daily operations and develop highly skilled plant operations. Support the departmental goals of efficiency, yields, quality production and safety and quality.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated, and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries.Oversee assigned department production shift activities (Whey plant , Procream) to ensure operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency.Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site’s food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.Ensure assigned shift is compliant with sanitation requirements. May provide support in the monthly sanitation inspections and implementation of any corrective actions, as necessary.Track and report shift productivity improvements.Approve daily reports and KPI for the assigned shift.Report and trouble shoot operations issues.Provide input to the Manager and co-workers of any issues and suggestions for improvementSupport Process Safety Management programs, where applicable.Work with the Safety / regulatory Manager to ensure compliance of assigned shift in all aspects.Help develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement in assigned shift.Support the continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for any changes that occur in the assigned shift.Monitor KPI and help develop plans to bring assigned shift in line with Operations Excellence goals.Participate in the daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the assigned shift operations activities are aligned.Participate in personnel investigations and recommend corrective actions, as necessary.Demonstrate the following core values and guiding behaviors which are expected of all employees at Joseph Gallo Farms : Quality, Service, Integrity, Family and BalanceComputer proficientPerform other duties as assigned.Food Safety Requirements / Responsibilities :
Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulationsComply with GMP's in the plantAssist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality systemOrganizational Relationships :

Qualifications :
Minimum A.A. with B.S or B.A. preferred5 years of supervisory experienceExperience working in food manufacturing company, preferably dairy operations or relatedProven background with safety programs and GMPWillingness to work non-traditional hours is requiredFood, CPG or USDA / FDA environmentsPhysical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
