What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRO BUYER position at Joseph s Gourmet Pasta Company?
DESCRIPTION:
The MRO Buyer is responsible for internal requisitions and create purchase orders for the maintenance department.
Coordinate and interact with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts. Responsible for inventory (parts, chemicals, consumables, and lubricants) and ensure availability of parts based on plant requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary contact to initiate all maintenance purchase orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Ensure all products relieved from inventory area issued from the system daily.
- Enter new part information and new supplier information into CMMS as required
- Obtain quotes on items through competitive sourcing that are not covered in existing agreements.
- Track and assist with receiving orders, cycle counting, and conducting annual inventory.
- Maintain vendor database and set up vendors as needed.
- Review invoices for price and/or quantity discrepancies and follow guidelines to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow team members and other departments
- Attends training as required
- Performs any other job-related duties as requested by maintenance management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- Excellent time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and an ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously required
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High School or GED equivalent
- At least 3-5 years of experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment
- Basic computer skill required. Experience with Microsoft products and working within a CMMS preferred.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must exhibit professionalism and display a strong desire to succeed.
- Must have basic math and computer skills.
