What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRODUCTION PLANNER position at Joseph s Gourmet Pasta Company?
Job Summary/ Primary purpose of this position:
Oversees detailed daily plant production schedules and develops mid to long range production plans. Manages inventory levels for work in process and finished goods and meets company goals for on time delivery, turns and fill rate.
Reports to / Supervision Received:
Supply Chain Manager
Essential Functions:
Oversees daily production planning
Manages inventory of perishable WIP materials
Develops detailed mid and long range production and labor plans for all equipment in the facility. Develops plans for critical ingredient and packaging forecasts
Produces detailed, polished communications
Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
Broad understanding of production planning.
Broad understanding of manufacturing capabilities and constraints. Knowledgeable at interpreting BOM’s, recipes and batching constraints
Knowledge of Navision Dynamics or other ERP packages with a high degree of comfort handling data. Advanced excel skills required; must understand formula construction, pivot tables, data types.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of senior managers and peers. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical, verbal, or written form. Able to deal with multiple variables and imperfect data sources.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or other related field. Equivalent work experience accepted.
Must be very skilled in Microsoft Excel or equivalent applications.
Minimum Experience Required:
1-5 Years
