What are the responsibilities and job description for the QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN - 2nd Shift position at Joseph s Gourmet Pasta Company?
Position Summary
The 2nd shift QA Technician will be involved in daily pre-op, non-conforming product hold/ release, CCP’s and OPRP’s checks, foreign material and customer complaint investigations and flour tailing checks. Provides support to operations with foreign material investigations and root cause analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for monitoring compliance as well as training plant personnel in GMP, allergen control, food defense, food safety, QMS, HACCP, CCPs, OPRPs and PRPs.
- Conducts daily GMPs audit to assure compliance with applicable procedures.
- Assist in daily flour sifter inspection and tailing
- Assists in the flour receiving QA verification process
- Follows and ensures all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), to ensure fully integrated Food Safety systems are in compliance to State(s) , Federal Food Safety standards including (but not limited to) FSSC, FSMA, GFCO, FDA, and USDA.
- Participate in the glass and brittle plastic audit
- Conduct quality checks on forming and packaging lines to ensure product meets the spec and EQA.
- Work with Supervisors, Leaders, Operators, and Q.A. Technicians to provide immediate feedback on product quality results and adherence to to specifications quality standards.
- Reviews daily Q.A. and production paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Support operations in foreign material investigations and inspecting and releasing any equipment on 2nd shift
- Support the QA Hybrid position in holding or releasing any product affected during 2nd shift.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality assurance or within the food industry.
- Highly motivated, hands-on, results driven, forward thinking professional who can thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management, customers, consumers, and regulatory officials.
- Must be very organized and able to prioritize tasks in an effective way.
- HACCP Certification is a plus
- Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable.
