Ryerson has an opportunity available for an EHS Manager. The EHS Manager would provide leadership to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations for facilities within their market.
- Provide leadership in development, implementing, and managing EHS programs, policies, programs and practices for multiple locations. Ensure recordkeeping standards for EHS programs are implementedand maintained. Implement and coordinate with facility leaders on safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries.
- Advise and train managers and supervisors on their roles and responsibilities to the EHS program.
- Perform risk based audits and inspections to facilities to identify potential safety hazards and work with all levels of employees to determine and implement effective controls and corrective actions.
- Leads team through thorough incident investigation process for all injuries and significant near misses.
- Drive continuous improvement in our safety culture while working towards exceeding site-specific safety goals, participation in site safety council activities and projects. Transfer safety SOP's, procedures, and processes to market activities and projects.
- Assists and ensures administrative duties are completed timely including but not limited to electronic filing if monthly audits, administering training, tier II reporting, SDS compliance and OSHA online reporting.
- Working with location management and safety councils, work to identify, establish and implement EHS best practices.

- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related technical degree; or adequate knowledge and experience to demonstrate competency as defined in the job description
- Minimum 5 years experience in an EHS role in manufacturing or a metals service center environment or managing EHS for multiple sites
- Up to 65 percent travel.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor employees in a matrixed organization
- Ability to meet deadlines and effectively multi-task in a demanding environment

Salary : $101,112 - $151,668
