What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate - Seafood position at Josephs Classic Market?
Position: Seafood Associate
Joseph’s receives fresh seafood delivered daily and our Seafood Associates play a critical role in maintaining our quality standards and presentation of this department. Fresh seafood is very perishable so our seafood clerks must have the ability to maintain quality and attention to detail.
Routine Tasks:
- Provides customer service up to the Joseph’s standard
- Maintains Joseph’s standards for product freshness and sanitation
- Sells products by providing customers with product information, answering questions and making suggestions
- Replenishes, maintains, and rotates products and display cases
- Packages and labels products for self-service, and ensures product signage is accurate
- Cutting and preparing seafood for sale
- Cleaning scales and cutting areas
- Operates knives, steamer, scale, and other Seafood equipment
- Assists with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to deliver friendly, respectful, timely customer service
- Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions
- Ability to work well with others
- Food preparation experience
- A passion for serving people
A Seafood Associate performs their tasks primarily in the Seafood department. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 80 pounds. Work also includes frequent interaction with customers and fellow employees.
