Job Title: Art Teacher (K-8th Grade)

Job Overview:
Joshua Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to inspire students in their artistic abilities while promoting Christian values. The ideal candidate will teach students in various grade levels (elementary, middle, or high school) and help develop their artistic skills, creativity, and appreciation for the arts, all while nurturing their spiritual growth and understanding of God's creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Art: Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that encompass a variety of techniques, media, and art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
- Integrate Christian Values: Incorporate biblical teachings and Christian principles into art lessons, helping students to see the beauty of God's creation and express their faith through art.
- Encourage Creativity: Foster an environment that promotes imagination, experimentation, and self-expression while guiding students to develop their artistic abilities.
- Assess Student Work: Provide constructive feedback and assessment on students' artwork, guiding them through the creative process and helping them to improve their skills.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment where students feel encouraged and respected.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with other faculty members to integrate cross-curricular projects that reflect the school’s mission and values.
- Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, upcoming art events, and art-related activities.
- Extracurricular Opportunities: Assist in organizing art shows, exhibitions, or other school-wide art-related activities and events.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with art education trends and methods, and reflect on best practices in teaching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (required).
- Teaching certification in Art or eligibility to obtain certification (preferred).
- Experience teaching art in a classroom setting, preferably in a Christian school environment.
- Strong understanding of various art forms and techniques, including traditional and digital media.
- Passion for teaching and nurturing students’ creativity and spiritual development.
- Ability to integrate Christian faith into lesson planning and student activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents.
