We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our team at Joshua Christian Academy. As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive music education program that integrates Christian values and principles with musical instruction. You will inspire students to develop their musical talents while fostering a deeper understanding of faith through music.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the school's Christian values and educational standards, integrating biblical principles into music education.
2. Teach music theory, vocal techniques, and classroom instrumental skills to students across various age groups and skill levels.
3. Plan and lead engaging music class lessons, rehearsals, and performances.
4. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore and express their musical abilities.
5. Incorporate worship songs and hymns into the music program, facilitating spiritual growth and connection through music.
6. Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects and school events, such as chapel services and community outreach programs.
7. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their musical proficiency and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.
8. Organize and oversee extracurricular music activities, such as music clubs, competitions, and recitals, to further enrich students' musical experiences as the program grows.
9. Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school administrators regarding students' progress, performances, and any relevant concerns.
10. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in music education, attending workshops, conferences, and professional development opportunities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
2. Valid teaching certification or license, with specialization in music education.
3. Strong understanding of Christian principles and a commitment to integrating faith into music instruction.
4. Proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument and conducting vocal ensembles.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
6. Prior teaching experience, preferably in a Christian school or similar educational setting.
7. Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
8. Dedication to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in music pedagogy.
