- Leading Children through organized activities and events
- Act as a positive role model
- Caring for attendees’ individual needs
- Build investment and excitement through their own energy and relationships with attendees
- Collaborating with staff members to best support attendees
- Complete documentation and track individual’s social-emotional growth
- Establish a relationship with each child and understand their needs and treat each child with respect and dignity
- Assume responsibility for safety of campers
- Problem solves through situations and seek assistance when necessary
- Know where campers are, at all times
Qualifications
- Must attend orientation/training sessions one week prior to camp starting
- Must be available Mon.-Fri., 8:30 am-3:30pm, June 2nd – August 1st
- 18 years or older, in college or completed college with a focus in psychology, social services or education
- Be active in daily activities, teach and encourage children
- Comfortable with traveling and chaperoning on field trips, the pool and the beach
- Must have strong communication skills and professionalism will interacting with staff, campers and parents
- Ability to maintain composure and model patience in stressful situations
