Background
Works under general supervision of the Packaging Manager in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating Q&A standards.Work with Operations management team to coordinate Packaging Department resources to achieve simultaneously and with no mutual compromise employee safety (procedures, behaviors, PPE use, etc.), customer quality (paperwork compliance, hygiene compliance, gowning, etc.), room and process compliance (organization, housekeeping, and visual management) and ship date requirements (expected output and yields, due date achievement, productivity).Responsible for performing and overseeing daily operation of assigned Packing Operator team to include planning, monitoring and controlling of production, and to ensure safety, high productivity and work accuracy.This function can substitute the Packaging Manager on his / her absence (meetings, planning, disciplinary actions, etc.)Tasks
Coordinates equipment, packaging rooms and assigned team to achieve customer ship dates and maximize pounds packaged per shiftEnsures work area is GMP compliant (cleanliness, organization) during all operation, assuring exposed product is always handled on controlled areasEnsures quality of product packaged by assigned team, including package appearance, package weight, in-process testing, labeling and other batch record requirementsMonitor any quality issues, re-work, repackagingAssists in hiring, continuous training, performance evaluationMonitors employees, reports and reviews any issues, including safety, quality, suspicion, attendance, counseling of assigned team and report to ManagerPerform duties associated with Packaging OperatorCoordinates maintenance work during assigned shift, follow up on repairsEnsures adherence of safety rules, policies and procedures, use of PPE.Ensures proper clean-out of equipment and rooms between productsEnsures GMP audit-ready plant cleanliness at all timesMonitors equipment functionality, assist communication to maintenance on timely repairs.Maintain Daily Packaging Room Check ListReview labeling, batch records and all record keeping that a packager maintainsImplements and may help develop packaging improvements to improve profit (e.g., Improving packaging yields and reducing supply usage)Operates hand truck or fork liftReporting any manufacturing or quality issues, lead and oversee employees on shift, for production efficiency and safetySpecifications
High School diploma or GED1 year Packaging Operator experience at Jost ChemicalKnowledge of :Mathematics and English comprehension (Broad level)
