ABOUT YOU:
Supervise, delegate, and provide direction to the Cash and Ledger Clerks. Provide performance feedback, training, and individual development. Responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate reporting of cash received, with the main objective being to improve cash flow and keep bad debt losses at a minimum. Analyze, review, and improve work processes. Keep the Collections Manager advised of seriously delinquent or potentially delinquent accounts and accounting problems in a timely manner.  
 
Incumbents of this role are required to be on call and/or available after hours, to provide their own mobile device, and to distribute their mobile phone number accordingly. Alternatively, individuals may distribute their office phone number if their office phone is set to forward calls to their personal device when they are not physically present.
 
YOU HAVE:
  • Strategy. Ability to initiate change through problem-solving, decision-making, planning/organizing, and utilization/development of employees.
  • Technical Skills.  Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for effective reporting and data management.
  • Great Communication Skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and effectively support customers. 
  • Management. Proven leadership experience in supervising a team.
  • Experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in cash management or a similar financial role. 2 years prior collection and auditing experience. 
  • Education. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience. 
 
YOU WILL:
  • Coordinate. Work with the assigned account clerk to resolve account record issues and collaborate with internal accounting and plant employees.
  • Support Cash Reporting. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of cash received to improve cash flow and minimize bad debt losses.
  • Drive Process Improvement. Analyze, evaluate, and enhance cash management processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate. Promptly inform the Collections Manager about seriously delinquent accounts and accounting issues.
  • Goal Set. Assist in the development of departmental goals.
  • Metrics. Regularly track and analyze key performance indicators related to departmental goals. Monitor and communicate advancements toward established objectives.
  • Supervise. Oversee the Cash and Ledger Clerks, assign tasks, offer guidance, deliver performance evaluations, and facilitate training and development. Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel. Clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities to enable individuals to proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions. Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis; conduct effective performance reviews; take corrective action whenever necessary and, where necessary, work with HR Generalists to establish performance improvement plans. Support the development of assigned personnel’s skills and abilities, and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct (Jostens values) and work performance. Identify and resolve skill gaps and succession issues. Administer Company policies with regard to discipline, absenteeism, etc., in a fair and equitable manner, and fully document all incidents and actions taken. Involve assigned HR Generalist on compliance issues such as pay equity, equal opportunity in hiring and promotions, and proper procedures for hiring, terminations, lay-offs, etc.
