What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Superintendent- Cincinnati position at Jostin Construction, Inc?
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Provide on-site coordination for all aspects of the job, including direction of field professionals, coordinating material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule. The Superintendent also assists in other responsibilities including but not limited to scheduling, inspections, quality control, and jobsite safety. This position reports to the Concrete Field Operations Manager. The person in this position will need to be comfortable working in a public setting. Jostin requires all employees to work collaboratively as a team with other employees and trade partners.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for running the day-to-day operations on the construction site and controlling the short-term schedule. The Superintendent drives quality control and maintains all safety protocols.
- Supervise trade contractors involved in the project and monitor the quality of their daily work.
- Assist and supervise field professionals on self-performance items.
- Supervise the job site to meet or exceed all OSHA requirements for personnel and property safety.
- Conduct Toolbox Talks, daily huddles and JSAs to review that day’s tasks and safety concerns.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on-time, within budget and to the strictest of quality standards.
- Manage all aspects of job site logistics, cleanup, scheduling, deliveries, lay-down, hoisting, coordination, etc.
- Communicate and coordinate with all subcontractors, suppliers, and other 3rd parties effectively.
- Manage project closeout and punch list.
- Participate in on-going training opportunities as required.
- Assist the Project Manager with miscellaneous responsibilities as required.
- Complete employee reviews in a timely manner with the assistance from FOM.
- Participates in strategic planning for concrete projects.
- Responsible for submitting payroll time through FieldEase to accounts payable by deadline.
- Report any attendance issues daily to HR.
- Responsible for completing disciplinary paperwork and communicating with the employee next steps.
- Completing pulse checks at the 30/60/90-day mark with the employee and submit completed paperwork to ED&R.
- Completing all administrative tasks within a timely manner including, but not limited to responding to emails.
- Collaborate with ED&R to track the upskilling of field professionals and required training.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5-7 years successful experience as a concrete professional.
- Strong technical and communication skills.
- Construction document and drawing literate, with knowledge of concrete phases of construction.
- Experience and proficiency in the concrete division of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
- OSHA 30 certification or the completion of within 90 days.
- Familiar with Software systems (Procore, Bluebeam, Field Ease.)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Some travel may be required.
