Journey Hospice believes in a holistic approach in our care and is seeking Massage Therapists to work with our clients. This position would be as needed, per diem, and offers the flexibility to work around your busy schedule! Primary territory is Atlantic County, but may include some travel to Cumberland or Gloucester counties.
The Massage Therapist (MT) provides palliative massage therapy services to Hospice patients on an as-needed basis in accordance with the individual patients needs and goals in accordance with the Hospice plan of care. The MT must have knowledge and understanding of a patients illness or injury and the ability to assess these needs and plan appropriate interventions. The role of the MT is to work as part of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to assist the patient in achieving his/her optimum goals.
Education/Training/Certifications: Must possess education for licensure as a massage therapist approved by an accredited organization: The American Massage Therapy Association, The Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, The Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and The American Massage Therapy Association.
Massage Therapist licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Massage Therapy in accordance with N.J.S.A. 45:9-37.11 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 13:39A.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with New Jersey requirements.
Skill(s): Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor and is be able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors, co-workers and all others.
Must be able to demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm and willingness to work constructively with other health care team members and reflect concern for the well being of patients and employees.
Interact with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the mission and vision of the organization.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience as a massage therapist.
Hospice/home health experience preferred.
Must demonstrate the ability to be able to work within a multidisciplinary team setting.
Understanding of Hospice philosophy and needs of terminally ill.
