What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Support Staff II position at Journey of Bemidji Inc.?
Journey of Bemidji, Inc. is seeking two female employees to work in a mental health group home's program for women experiencing mental health symptoms related to abuse. One position is for three 12-hour overnight shifts per week; the other is for five 8-hour daytime weekday shifts.
Duties in both jobs include: function as a role model for clients; teach ADL, coping, problem-solving and personal care skills; respond helpfully to client concerns; crisis prevention and intervention; carry out program plans; accurate and timely documentation; and work cooperatively in a small group setting. Recognizing early indications of mental health crisis is important in this position. Applicants must be at least eighteen years old, reliable, have a drivers license, and pass a background check. Preference is given to older applicants with college work in social sciences, nursing, social work or education or more than 2 years successful employment as a caregiver. Employer provides 40-60 hours of training before staff work individually with clients; all employees are crosstrained to work in group home or community settings.
