Music Director

Journey of Faith Church is looking for a passionate and skilled Music Director to help shape the sound and culture of worship in our community. This role is ideal for someone who loves building and mentoring teams, creating meaningful worship experiences, and developing musical excellence.

As a key member of the Experience Team, you’ll oversee band preparation and execution for Sunday services and key events—on stage and behind the scenes—helping people encounter Jesus through music.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit, train, and develop volunteer and paid musicians.

• Build a team of Music Directors to lead rehearsals and serve regularly.

• Create a culture of musical and spiritual growth through coaching and workshops.

Worship Direction & Execution

• Plan and lead weekly rehearsals.

• Collaborate on service planning with the Worship Director.

• Build worship tracks and arrangements reflecting Journey’s style.

• Use systems like Ableton and Planning Center to manage rehearsals and services.

Creative Collaboration

• Work with Worship and Production Directors to develop the “Journey Sound.”

• Maintain consistency across all worship venues and services.

Admin & Communication

• Keep Planning Center up to date with service plans, charts, and team info.

• Communicate regularly with volunteers to support preparation and connection.

• Participate in staff meetings and cross-team collaboration.

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.

• Skilled in a wide range of instruments and modern worship techniques.

• Experience with music production tools (Ableton, Playback, MacOS, Planning Center).

• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities.

• A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment.

• Bonus: Experience building charts, recording, and leading worship bands.
