Overview
Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS) play a vital role in promoting recovery, reducing stigma, and fostering a sense of community and support for individuals in need. Their unique combination of lived experience, training, and empathy makes them invaluable assets in the field of mental health and substance use disorder treatment. The need for CPRS positions within our organization is clear. Research has shown the effectiveness of peer support in promoting recovery and reducing the stigma associated with mental health and substance use disorders. By integrating CPRS into our team, we can enhance the quality of care we provide to our clients and improve their chances of achieving long-term recovery. In addition to CPRS duties, this position will be cross trained to cover front desk, and intake tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Peer-lead support groups
- Assisting in the development of strengths-based individual goals
- Serving as an advocate, mentor, or facilitator for resolution of issues that a peer is unable to resolve on their own
- Developing community support
- Providing information and support on ways to maintain personal wellness and recovery, (Modeling healthy coping strategies, self-care practices, and wellness activities)
- Providing information on behavioral health system navigation
- Helping to support virtual Alumni meeting
- Create and organize events to promote healthy social interaction
- Act as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient - Supporting and encouraging step-downs to IOP/OP LOC
- Support and encourage client's engagement in self-help community support groups
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions
- Collaborate w/ other members of the Treatment Team to best serve the client population.
- Work collaboratively with all clinical, medical, residential, alumni, and other staff as necessary
- Maintain compliance with continuing education requirements
- Assist the front desk, answering phones, scheduling and completing intakes
Skills
- High School Diploma / GED - At least one year of experience in a substance abuse or mental health setting preferred
- Current/Active CPRS Certification in TN
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and flexible with strong organizational and time-management skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
