The Intake Counselor will join our Clinical Admissions Department and play a crucial role in guiding patients through the admissions process. We are looking for a candidate with strong communication skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Desired Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Alternatively, at least 1 year of experience in behavioral health
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a higher level psychiatric or substance abuse facility
- Proficiency in mental health documentation and use of EMR systems
- Experience working with individuals in behavioral health crises or under substance influence
- Strong background in customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Detail-oriented with experience in electronic health records and Excel
- Familiarity with DTX/RTC/PHP/IOP/OP Levels of Care
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist patients and their families, guiding them through the admissions process
- Conduct intake assessments and utilize evidence-based assessments as needed
- Adhere to company Standards of Care to ensure proper care and accurate documentation
- Develop initial treatment and discharge plans in collaboration with the clinical team
Schedule:
- Full-time position with flexible scheduling based on department needs
