Summary

Journey School Lynnwood (JSL) is looking for an after-hours cleaner to join our cleaning staff that can handle the “Journey Dirty” of JSL.

Journey School is a partial outdoor program, meaning "all the elements" are continuously being tracked in out of the building / surrounding areas. We’re looking for a cleaning specialist who likes cleaning, is detail oriented, has pride in the work being performed, able to work independently, has good communication and takes feedback well. We hope you’re ready to put on your gloves and scrub up with us!

This is a part-time position, set hours of 5 : 30pm-11pm , with one-10min. paid break ; one-30min. unpaid lunch .

Duties

Cleaner Responsibilities

Deep Cleaning of bathrooms, dining / kitchen areas, classrooms and other general areas of the school.
Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors
Sanitizing all touch-points around the school ; dusting low / high areas
Emptying ALL campus trash, recycle and compost bins, servicing restrooms and wiping down communal surfaces
Stock and maintain supply rooms
Restock all expendable items daily
Weekly inventory and email order(s)
Tackle heavy cleaning jobs upon request
Ensure outside walkways remain clear and free of debris
Notify the maintenance / leadership team of any repairs required
Mix and dispose of all cleaning solutions appropriately
Other duties as identified in the cleaning check-list

Requirements

Cleaner Skill Requirements

1-2yrs. cleaning experience in a commercial or custodial setting

18 yrs. old

Detail oriented excellent organizational skills is a must

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and disposal methods

Ability to walk / stand 90% of your work day, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours ; carry / lift up to 50lbs ; must maintain all safety protocols and be able to sustain this demand

Effective communication skills to interact with school staff and takes feedback well

Is honest, has integrity and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently during after-hours shifts

Ability to problem solve, identify and complete needed tasks

Has pride in the work performed

Current certification in Blood Borne Pathogens, a negative TB test, and your MMR Vaccination Proof / Record or willing to obtain upon employment .

Must be able to pass a DCYF criminal background check

Nice To Haves

This is a part-time position of 25hrs. / wk, Mon-Friday 5 : 30pm-11pm (with a paid 10min. break and an unpaid 30min lunch brk.) ; some weeks it would be Mon-Thursday a flex Sat. (having Fridays off due to events at our school).
