Job Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Non-Benefited, 15 - 18 hrs/week, hrs/week average over the year. Some weeks will be as low as 1 hour in the summer and audition and show weeks may be over 40 hours with overtime.

Position Summary: The Show Coordinator is the on-site supervisor for Journey rehearsals and shows; primary source of communication between office, parents and artistic team. The Show Coordinator oversees all administrative functions of the show including rehearsal venues, show venues and Parent Committees. Parent Committees include Auction, Backstage, Box Office, Show Chair, Costumes, Docent, Green Room, House Manager, Makeup, Photographer, Programs, Properties (Props), Publicity/Posters, Concessions, Show Cookies, Sets/Painting, and Techl. Along with these administrative duties, the Show Coordinator helps ensure Journey's mission and values are being carried out by guiding Artistic Team Members, parents and students.
Team: This position reports to the Program Director and collaborates closely with staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders.

classes from drama to dance to improv, 6 school-year shows, and all-ages community theater, Journey is known for being an incredibly dynamic and well-organized community that values integrity and quality.
Journey's professional-quality school-year musicals are exclusively cast with kids ages 8-18. More than 300 area youth conduct 50 performances to bring joy to more than 10,000 ticket holders every year. The cast, crew and production committees are 100% volunteer. Parents and friends of cast members create costumes, sets, props, and more, while youth are mentored to become future technicians and artists.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Secures and interacts with area and production facilities (venue and rehearsal) and maintains good working relationships as company representative.
Under the supervision of the Program Director and using the Show Coordinator Manual, performs clerical duties relating to first class day, auditions and callbacks, and show activities.
Supervises the functional and organizational aspects of shows including auditions, rehearsals, and performances.
Maintains a high level of rapport between parents, students, Artistic Team Members, and staff.
Assists with responsibilities associated with special events and fundraisers as assigned.
Attends Coordinator meetings and other meetings as designated.
Acts as office liaison.
Proofreads and approves, in a timely manner, all office generated materials relating to the show.
Responds in a timely manner to all calls/texts (24 hours) and emails (48 hours).
Coordinators in their first session of employment will cc the Program Director in all their work-related emails.
Performs additional duties as outlined in the Show Coordinator Manual. Communicates with parents and students via email, online Callboard, and text alert system.
Keep the Journey Calendar up to date for your show's programming.
Attend all rehearsals to:
Make sure that all committees are running smoothly.
Ensure the Artistic Team's needs are being met.
Ensure that the Artistic Team maintains orderly rehearsals (focused
and starting and ending on time).
Enforce Behavior Guidelines and encourage the Artistic Team to do so as well
Check that the rehearsal venue is being kept in order.
Administer First Aid when needed - maintain current CPR certification. Maintain communication with all Parent Committees. Assist the Committees to find additional parent help as needed and facilitate meetings (e.g., Sets, Props, Tech, Costumes, etc.).
Answer any questions committee members may have. Remind the Committee Chairs of what the office has available in the way of support.
Oversee all Dress Rehearsals to make sure that last minute details are
covered by all Committees.
Oversee all performances.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Must read and understand Journey's Statement of Beliefs and Values & Objectives and be willing to incorporate them when performing job-related tasks.
Must have the ability to devote necessary time to efficiently manage the show and attend Coordinator meetings at our main office.
Must have excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and relational skills.
Preferred to have general knowledge of Journey class and production procedures.
Must be a natural promoter of Journey Theater.
