Job Summary
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene needs, meal preparation, light housekeeping and errands, dispensing medication, and other tasks that improve the resident's living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, pays attention to details and is reliable. This is a non-exempt level position.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE
- Assist persons served with daily hygiene needs and dressing
- Guide persons served through their daily routines
- Meal preparation
- Ensure health and safety of persons served
- Have fun in the community during scheduled outings
- Transport persons served to various locations within the community (Parks, amusement parks, bowling, shopping malls, etc.)
- Daily note taking, goal tracking and behavior tracking
- Attend all staff meetings
- Redirect maladaptive behaviors using approved ABA strategies in accordance with individuals behavior plans
- You will be reimbursed for ALL GAS MILEAGE AT A NON TAXED RATE OF .65 cents per mile!
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Must have a valid driver's license with valid car insurance
- Must have a high school diploma or have passed GED test
- Must pass background check by DOJ and FBI prior to orientation
- Must pass a health screening clearance and receive TB Test
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
- Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
- Compassionate, respectful, ethical
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available to work weekend shifts
- Must pass criminal record clearance with the FBI & DOJ
- Must have valid CA driver's license
- Must pass TB test and physical exam prior to onboarding
- Must be willing to work overtime (Rare but does occur) if needed
Shift hiring for
- Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday from 10PM-8:30am
Work Hazards
- Employees will adhere to the behavior plan set forth for each specific resident
- Employees will be expected to redirect maladaptive behaviors using ABA therapy
