Glasgow Hills is seeking a compassionate and reliable Bus Driver/Transportation Aide to safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations while ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role also includes assisting residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, as well as supporting staff with transportation-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's license
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Previous experience in transportation, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting
- Basic knowledge of wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to assist residents with mobility needs in a courteous and respectful manner
Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, social outings, and facility events
- Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including securing wheelchairs and walkers
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and facility transportation policies
- Communicate effectively with nursing and administrative staff regarding transportation schedules and resident needs
- Provide a positive and friendly experience for residents during transportation
- Assist with other duties as needed to support resident mobility and engagement
