Job Description – Journeys DDA

Job Summary:As a Behavioral Interventionist, you will work with individuals, primarily children and adolescents, who have behavioral challenges. This role demands a compassionate approach to understanding and managing behaviors that may be disruptive or harmful. You will collaborate with a team of professionals to create and implement individualized intervention plans that promote positive behavioral changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct behavioral assessments to identify the needs of each individual. Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans in collaboration with educators, therapists, and families.
  • Intervention: Apply various behavior modification techniques and strategies in real-world settings, such as schools, homes, or community centers.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Systematically record behavioral data and analyze it to measure the effectiveness of interventions. Adjust plans as necessary based on data outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and family members to ensure a consistent approach to behavior management. Provide regular updates on progress and challenges.
  • Crisis Management: Respond to and manage behavioral crises using approved de-escalation techniques, ensuring the safety of all involved.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest research and techniques in behavioral intervention. Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions as required.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and confidential records of interventions, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or a related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents, particularly those with special needs or behavioral challenges.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral theories and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.
  • A compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.

Work Environment: The role may require working in various settings, including schools, homes, and community centers. It may involve direct interaction with individuals who have behavioral challenges, which can be physically and emotionally demanding.

Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
