What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Nanny in South Pasadena, CA for a 4-year-old and 5-year-old position at Jovie of CA, WA, and MN?
Summary:
A bit about us:
We are a thoughtful and communicative family of six including our long-term, live-in nanny who cares for our newborn baby. We are looking for a part-time nanny to pick up our 2 exuberant boys from school and help burn off their energy after school. Having 3 kids and working full-time can be chaotic; we really appreciate nannies and the incredible support and attentive care you provide.
Our 4-year-old son is outgoing and very loving. He loves people, hugs, imaginative play with Hot Wheels, and music! He likes to play his toy piano.
Our 5-year-old son excels in reading (which he loves). He’s also into Science stuff, jokes, cooking, and Narnia. Both boys love being outside and learning about nature. They also both like soccer and swimming. He’s currently learning Italian from his grandpa over Zoom.
A bit about you:
Above all else, you love kids and are proactive! You are also punctual, adaptable, organized, and consistent. You have lots of ideas for activities and appreciate open communication and feedback (goes both ways)! You are playful and genuinely enjoy exploring children’s unique, individual interests. You know how to foster independence and autonomy at their age levels.
Job Duties: Picking the boys up from school using our family vehicle (their school is 25 min from our home), driving them to extracurricular activities, engaging the boys in a variety of activities, reading, and active play, as well as light tidying as we transition from playtime to dinner (no cooking required).
Position Highlights:
Qualifications: You have a minimum of 3 years of childcare experience with some experience in the 4-6 age range, a valid Driver’s license, clean driving record, child CPR certification (or willing to get prior to starting), are flexible and able to stay later sometimes, and can abide by no screen-time policy including playing games on your phone or sharing videos with the kids.
Set yourself apart: You have a teaching background, are an avid reader and/or have an interest in higher education.
Schedule: Monday-Friday (2-6p)
Starts end of April 2025!
Pay: $25-$29 an hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
*Please note that during this time of COVID-19, Jovie expects all employees to follow CDC guidelines and ensure best hygiene practices when working and in their personal time. This family is following these recommended guidelines cautiously and conservatively and expect the caregiver to do the same to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
