Waste and Recycle Technician
We are looking for an individual who will be a vital part of our operation, ensuring that our quality products are available to our customers when they need them. Our Waste Technicians are of the highest integrity and share our values, with a commitment to strive to do a better job today than we did yesterday.
Responsibilities
- The proper handling of waste from the hippo hoppers and hotmelt trash receptacles to the roll-off dumpster.
- Bale all waste material that can be recycled.
- Record waste/recycling data on count sheets/excel files on a daily basis.
- Breakdown cardboard.
- Maintain area around roll-off dumpster.
- Empty scrap metal bin into the outside roll-off dumpster.
- Loading bales, pallets, and totes into proper removal truck.
- Assist with off-site recycling outlets for new materials.
- Pour wastewater totes into the drain & maintain the cleaning of the area.
- Backup the hazardous waste disposal.
- Assist with environmental tasks such as collection, taping, and preparation for shipping.
- Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- High School Degree or GED preferred.
- Considerable knowledge of the operation of equipment to include forklift, baler, compactor, wastewater tank, waste receptacles.
- Basic knowledge of computer skills needed. SAP knowledge preferred.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift 50- 75 pounds.
