Overview
The Jacket Room Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of machinery and equipment in the Jacket Room production facility. The role involved performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, implementing repairs to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. The technician will work closely with the Jacket Room production team to support ongoing operations and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support, installation, rebuild and maintenance of all production equipment in the Jacket Room
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for efficiency, capability, and yield
- Performs mechanical skills, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machinery
- Update the preventative maintenance program for all Jacket Room Wrapping machines as needed
- Perform routine preventative maintenance per a set schedule as well as respond to unscheduled repairs in a safe and timely manner
- Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor
Essential Functions

- Able to problem solve effectively, coordinating with team members and other departments as necessary to ensure successful outcomes
- Requires extensive electro-mechanical aptitude, including a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Must have a full understanding of the production process and all process and support equipment
- Excellent communication skills to listen and speak effectively with team members and actively participate in team meetings, as well as communicate effectively in writing to keep relevant personnel up to date on project status and plant needs
- Strong organizational skills and ability to analyze and interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusions
- Ability to work full time, approximately 45-50 hours/week, with the ability to adjust schedule based on facility demands
- Involves extensive computer systems/software operation and regular use of office equipment
- Must be able to accurately take instructions and keep records
- Push or pull with up to 75 lbs. of force on an occasional basis
- Able to stand on and/or walk up to 12 hours per day
- Must be able to detect audible tones and alarm
Qualifications
- Must have demonstrated a good work record and attendance
- Must have sufficient hand tools required
- A minimum of three years of experience in a related field or comparable education
- Previous manufacturing system maintenance experience
- Welding experience a plus
- Electrical experience a plus
- Computer proficiency required with strong background in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
