What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Summer Camp Teacher position at Joy Learning Center?

Monday-Friday
Joy Learning Center is a private prep center providing in-person academic enrichment services to students from kindergarten to 8th grade. The K-8 program aims to help students build a strong foundation with the content just completed in school, and then prepare them for the Common Core curriculum and standardized exams topics they will encounter in the upcoming school year.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure that students are working in an inclusive, safe, and respectful environment
- Develop and enforce daily lesson plans for respective grades
- Be able to measure the pace of the class and adjust curriculum based on the level of the class
- Keep track of students’ attendance, academic development and behavior in the summer program
- Pinpoint each student’s individual abilities and methods to best work with them
- Communicate with parents when necessary
- Coordinate extra-curricular activities
Skills and Qualifications
- Certified teachers and applicants with teaching experience will be prioritized
- Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Applicants must be fluent in English
- Ability to develop curriculums and daily lesson plans
- Ability to prepare and follow daily lesson plans and provide instructions to students
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Perceptive when working with students; capable of understanding individual student needs
- 2 years of experience with K-8 aged students in diverse settings
- Passion for ELA and math education
- Willing to work in a collaborative environment
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- K-8 teaching: 1 years (Required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $40.00 per hour
