Job Summary

The Events and Advancement Coordinator position is responsible for organizing and supporting events which assist in enhancing awareness of Joya and the Joya Foundation. This position is tasked with researching venues, planning and managing the Advancement departments events calendar, negotiating quotes and agreements, monitoring budgets, networking, and delivering on event objectives. This position will also be responsible for various administrative tasks as assigned and needed by the Advancement department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Negotiation with vendors and suppliers.

·         Promote and market the events, including assisting with the updating of the website and social media accounts.

·         Oversee event related committee meetings.

·         Oversee and guide volunteers to procure in-kind contributions of goods and services in support of assigned events, as well as assisting in procuring event sponsorships.

·         Coordinate with volunteer leadership for the management and successful production of Joya and Joya Foundation approved special events.

·         Update and produce electronic reports for special events.

·         Maintain and update information in Joya’s events software programs.

·         Coordinate the production of all material distribution for events.

·         Support the Advancement team with administrative tasks as assigned.

·         None

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

·         Superior verbal and written, and public communication and presentation skills.

·         Excellent writing, spelling, and editing skills.

·         Ability to work within a team and independently combined with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.

·         Ability to exercise good judgement in decision making and problem solving.

·         Ability to work evenings, early mornings, and weekends, as required.

·         Proficiency required in Microsoft Office, with preferred experience in Bloomerang and/or Greater Giving.

·         Experience coordinating complex projects.

·         Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Education, Certifications and Position Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Management, Business Administration or related field, preferred.

·         Valid driver's license and vehicle with proof of insurance.

·         T.B Test, proof of TDap Immunization, and Hepatitis B vaccinations.

·         Washington State Department of Early Learning Criminal background clearance.

·         DSHS Background Check clearance.

·         Financial Background Check clearance.

Environmental Factors:

·         Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds regularly.

·         Indoors, sedentary up to 7 hours/day sitting or standing and up to 4 hours/day keyboarding.

·         May require standing for extended period of time.

·         Ability to bend, twist, stoop on a regular basis.

Salary : $51,400 - $64,250
