Joyous Town Preschool is seeking a reliable and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our staff, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Montessori and STEAM curriculum-based programs while ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in our care.
Position Details:
- Hours: 7:15am - 10:30am, Monday to Friday (Additional hours may be available)
- Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of dedicated staff members to prepare and open the center each morning, ensuring all classrooms and facilities are welcoming and ready for the day's activities.
- Create and maintain a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment that fosters exploration and creativity.
- Cultivate positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
- Prioritize the safety and emotional well-being of each child, responding to their individual needs with patience and compassion.
- Assist with meal preparation and service, ensuring that all dietary requirements and hygiene standards are met.
- Flexibly support other duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of the preschool program.
Requirements:
- DCYF Merit Portable Background check
- Negative TB test result
- Food Handlers Permit
- First Aid and CPR (including infants) certification (in-person training)
- Bloodborne Pathogen certification
- Proof of MMR vaccination
- Basic 30 Stars Hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of childcare experience
- ECE Initial certification or higher
- Enthusiasm for working with children and a positive, patient demeanor

Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour
