Our Delaware Valley Division, located in Souderton, PA, is currently searching for a Lead Diesel Mechanic due to growth!
Hours:
- Monday - Friday
- 2:00PM - 12:00AM
- Every other Saturday mandated
What You Will Do:
- Repair and maintain diesel trash trucks, cabs and trailers, and bodies of company vehicles and other equipment as necessary to maintain a serviceable fleet of trucks for the division’s assigned routes.
- Performs regular preventative servicing to include oil and filter changes, lubrication, hoses, belts, transmission fluids, coolant system, batteries, brake lines, brake adjustments, hydraulics, lights and electrical components, and engine components.
- Inspects and tests equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown. Diagnoses malfunctions, disassembles, inspects, and replaces worn or broken parts as required.
- Perform component replacement to removal of engine or transmission unit.
- Complete precise tech write ups.
- Perform basic failure analysis.
- Separate the difference between electronic or mechanical failure.
- Perform in frame overhauls on engines and bench overhauls on transmissions.
- Recognize and communicate safe cost cutting measures.
- Work within SRT times always.
- Work with no supervision.
- Help guide others to successful completion of their repairs while maintaining excellent repair times on their work assignments.
- Train trainees.
You Have:
- 5 - 10 years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic.
- Experience with diagnostics and diagnostic software.
- Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment.
- Ability to Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Have ability to work towards a personal "Best in Class" standard.
You Might Have:
- A Diesel Engine Technical degree
- A commercial drivers license (CDL), A or B
- PA State Inspection License (highly desired)
- ASEs
