Tree Technician
Location: Peekskill, NY
Reports to: Tree and Lawn Service Supervisor
Hours: 7 a.m. start with the ability to work after 5pm: Monday-Friday and every other Saturday
Pay: $20-25/hr. (depending on experience). Paid overtime after 40 hrs.
General Summary:
The Tree Technician provides their individual expertise to tree and lawn pest management services to homeowners and businesses. The Tree Technician is proactive in solving customer pest problems in a friendly and professional manner, provides constructive and accurate feedback to customers, suggests additional company services to customers when appropriate, takes advantage of opportunities to exceed client expectations, and delivers pest management services in accordance with company policy and governmental requirements.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities of the Tree Technician:
- Organize and run route in the most efficient manner.
- Maintain and apply appropriate skill in expected area(s) of expertise; follow company policies and procedures.
- Submit paperwork accurately, thoroughly and on time.
- Communicate effectively (verbal/written) in a timely manner with peers, clients, and management.
- Operate company vehicle safely and maintain vehicle to comply with DOT guidelines.
Essential Job Functions of the Tree Technician:
- Knowledge of the Tree or Lawn Care industry, products, services, and treatments a plus
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

- Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
- Reaching with hands and arms, climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, etc.
- Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 - 60 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Employees work outdoors and are exposed to pesticides, dust, mechanical hazards, and moving objects or other vehicles. May be exposed to cold and hot temperatures, and inclement weather conditions.
- May be exposed to allergens, such as mold, dust, pets, pollen, etc.
- The ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
