Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and energetic Baseball Tournament Directors to oversee the coordination, and execution of youth baseball tournaments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baseball, excellent leadership skills, and a strong ability to manage logistics, teams, vendors, and volunteers. You will ensure that tournaments run efficiently and provide an excellent experience for players, coaches, and spectators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning & Coordination:
- Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of baseball tournaments, including scheduling games, securing facilities, and coordinating with referees, vendors, and volunteers.
- Develop tournament formats, rules, and team registration processes.
- Oversee logistics of team check-ins, game schedules, and award ceremonies.
- Team & Volunteer Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for coaches, players, and parents, during the tournament.
- Address any issues or concerns that arise during the tournament, including conflict resolution.
- Game Day Operations:
- Ensure timely start and completion of all games according to the tournament schedule.
- Manage any game-day issues such as weather delays, injuries, or scheduling conflicts.
- Monitor the quality of the playing field and ensure it meets safety standards.
- Post-Tournament Responsibilities:
- Coordinate award ceremonies and distribution of prizes.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback from participants to improve future tournaments.
- Ensure proper follow-up with teams, sponsors, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in event planning, sports management, or baseball-related roles (preferred).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems quickly, and stay calm under pressure.
- Familiarity with baseball rules, tournament formats, and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic event management software.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, as tournaments are typically held on these days.
