Job Description: Treasury Specialist I – Construction Accounting
Location - Copley Drive, San Diego, California, 92111 (On-site)
Position Summary: The Treasury Specialist I – Construction Accounting plays a crucial role in supporting the company's Treasury functions. The primary responsibilities of this position include preparing reports, submitting wire transfer requests, funding loans through Encompass, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of various bank activities and accounts.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare initial close workbooks and imports for loan funding through Encompass (Construction products).
- Fund loans through the warehouse line and update Encompass records.
- Coordinate with the Construction group and other departments for ad hoc requests, such as payoffs, TCB draws, and modifications.
- Prepare margin call reports for quarterly NMLS reporting.
- Create monthly borrower billing statements for Construction and Builder loans.
- Reconcile Reverse product loan advances (1532, 1533).
- Prepare Reverse product loan entries, including Reverse securitization journal entries.
- Review wire activity for accuracy and ensure proper recording and reconciliation of amounts.
- Perform account reconciliations and verify entries are cleared promptly per established procedures.
- Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations for various accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger using LoanVision.
- Process corporate check deposits and ensure accurate recording.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
- Cross-train in other Treasury functions and act as a backup when necessary.
- Complete other duties as assigned, including short- and long-term projects.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1 years of experience in accounting/finance or related fields.
- Experience in mortgage banking preferred.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits, reconciliations, and balance sheets.
- Understanding of mortgage process rules, regulations, and ethical standards related to wire transfers.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and intermediate Excel (formulas, VLOOKUP).
- 10-key by touch preferred.
- Experience with document retention software (AIQ preferred).
Work Environment:
- Physical: Primarily sedentary work in an office setting.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
- Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and information visually, including printed materials and data on screens.
- Environmental: Office environment with no significant exposure to adverse conditions.
Supervision & Authority:
- Moderate supervision required, with increasing independent judgment and discretion based on experience.
Additional Notes:
- Full-time position, requiring in-office presence for training, followed by a flexible schedule of Tuesday to Thursday in-office (8 AM start time).
- A Bachelor's degree is not necessary.
- Ideal start date: Before the end of February.
- Only one interview is scheduled for the week of February 10th.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
