The Role
JPA Health is actively seeking an Account Supervisor to join our collaborative and team-oriented environment. As part of the Public Health team, the Account Supervisor will play a key role in leading strategic communications for foundations, professional societies, coalitions and others working in the non-profit arena on pressing public health issues. The ideal candidate will have healthcare communications and public affairs/issues advocacy experience and be a self-starter who is comfortable with rolling up their sleeves to serve as day-to-day strategy and execution lead on multiple client teams and in support of business development activities.
This position is a full-time, hybrid role reporting to the Washington, DC JPA office 2 days per week and working remotely 3 days per week.
The Responsibilities
Direct day-to-day account work and projects across JPA’s Public Health portfolio, which may include project strategy and planning, developing and reviewing client content, client relationship management and cross-functional team coordination
Serve as the team’s point for public affairs, responsible for sharing relevant news, perspectives, and approaches that may positively or negatively impact our clients.
Manage the execution of integrated communications and marketing programs and campaigns, including disease awareness/education campaigns for consumers and healthcare professionals, public affairs campaigns, media relations, thought leadership efforts, and coalition building and partnerships
Work collaboratively with JPA’s in-house creative, media, web and research teams to develop communications messages and content to be shared across channels, conduct primary and secondary research, and implement earned and paid media activations
Develop high-quality written content and demonstrate proficiency in all types of communications writing
Oversee team members in implementing the work, including supporting professional development and mentoring
Support new business efforts, including research, strategy and tactic development and proposal writing, presenting to prospective clients and nurturing growth opportunities with existing clients
Act as a liaison between client, vendors and, as appropriate, other internal and external audiences (i.e., healthcare providers, coalitions, media, advocacy, medical experts, other interest groups)
Collaborate with senior team members at JPA on client programs and agency-wide initiatives
About You
Our ideal candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience in health public affairs and issues advocacy communications
Public affairs and/or issues advocacy communications/campaign experience (e.g., Capitol Hill, White House, relevant agency, or trade association/professional organization)
Experience supporting integrated communications, media campaigns and public affairs/advocacy campaigns reaching public health audiences, stakeholders, professionals, patients and the general public
Coalition building and partnership development experience
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility and professional manner
Ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, and work both independently and as a team
Understanding of the intersection of public health politics, the communications ecosystem, and the changing health environment
Detail-oriented, proven critical thinking and a passion for public health communications
We would be thrilled if you also have:
Experience supporting business development proposals and presentations
Agency experience preferred.

Competitive pay and opportunities to advance. The anticipated starting pay for this role is between $90,000 - $110,000 annually, based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and location. You may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses. We review compensation annually and evaluate readiness for promotions every quarter.
