The Role
JPA Health is seeking a Director, Engagement Strategy to lead the development of holistic omnichannel strategies for our healthcare clients, spanning Life Sciences, Health Tech, Public Health, Federal Government, and Investor Relations. This role is about bringing cohesion across paid, social, CRM, content, web, and emerging platforms, translating client needs into bespoke, scalable engagement frameworks.
As the strategic unifier, you’ll partner with SMEs across Paid Media, Social, AI Research Solutions, and Integrated Intelligence to craft connected audience journeys, define microtargeting strategies, and develop cross-channel ecosystems that meet clients where they are. You’ll be client-facing, leading discussions and educating internal teams on how omnichannel engagement drives success.
This position is a full-time, hybrid role reporting to any JPA office (i.e., Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, New York City) 2 days per week and working remotely 3 days per week.
The Responsibilities
Develop and scale omnichannel engagement strategies, ensuring seamless integration across paid, owned, and earned channels (excluding earned media outreach).
Lead audience segmentation strategy, partnering with internal teams to refine microtargeting approaches.
Create omnichannel frameworks tailored to client budgets, goals, and regulatory considerations.
Define initial KPIs, Measurement Plans, and Learning Agendas, collaborating with Performance Analysts to interpret data and optimize strategies.
Serve as the first line of engagement strategy for clients, representing the Omnichannel Engagement team’s full capabilities.
Lead workshops and strategic discussions with clients to shape engagement models.
Translate complex engagement concepts for internal stakeholders (Account, Creative, PM, etc.), ensuring strategic alignment across teams.
Co-create content strategies and adapt them across channels to fit broader engagement models.
Draft functional requirements for CRM workflows, customer journeys, and channel integrations (no hands-on software implementation required).
Stay at the forefront of digital engagement trends, applying innovations like AI, personalization, and automation.
Over time, manage and grow a small team while continuing to be hands-on in strategy development.
About You
Our ideal candidate must have:
8 years of experience in omnichannel engagement, audience strategy, or digital marketing.
Expertise orchestrating activation plans across multiple engagement channels (paid, social, CRM, content,web, etc).
Pharma experience is required; familiarity with other areas of healthcare as outlined is a plus.
Ability to craft engagement frameworks that flex to different client needs and budgets.
Strong segmentation and microtargeting experience, with a strategic, not executional, approach.
Experience defining KPIs, measurement plans, and learning agendas, with the ability to act on performance insights.
Client-facing and highly articulate, able to lead workshops, strategy sessions, and pitch new work.
Educator and evangelist: able to demystify engagement strategy for internal teams and inspire agency-wide buy-in.
Strategic content thinker, able to shape narratives and adapt messaging across channels.
Familiarity with Google Analytics and performance tracking methodologies (but execution handled by specialists).
Innovative mindset, eager to bring AI, personalization, and emerging engagement trends into play.
Leadership potential, with the ability to manage and scale a small team over time.

Competitive pay and opportunities to advance. The anticipated starting pay for this role is between $115,00 - $130,000 annually, based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and location. You may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses. We review compensation annually and evaluate readiness for promotions every quarter.
