JPA Health is actively seeking a dynamic Medical Director to join our Scientific Services Team.
This position is a full-time, hybrid role reporting to the JPA Philadelphia office 2 days per week.

The Role
JPA Health is actively seeking a dynamic Medical Director to join our Scientific Services Team.
This position is a full-time, hybrid role reporting to the JPA Philadelphia office 2 days per week.
The Responsibilities
Strategic Analysis and Insight and Content Development
- Provide strategic analysis for client and internal initiatives
- Based on the strategic analysis (above), develop and present a recommendation for a strategy and a pathway to implement client and internal initiatives
- In line with client and project objectives, develop content on all project components, including, but not limited to, agendas, slide presentations, faculty/author recommendations, manuscripts, brochures, scripts, storyboards, toolkit components, newsletters, and games
- Ensure clinical and medical accuracy of all project components, including content, graphics, animations, tables, graphs, and charts
- Develop content in line with identified style guidelines
- Manage freelance writers assigned to account projects
- Arbitrate and apply comments and strategic direction from client teams and external experts on project-related materials
- Interact professionally with clients, and demonstrate an ability to provide solutions and anticipate client needs
- Demonstrate an ability to anticipate (proactively identify) potential project-related obstacles and identify solutions
- Provide leadership when interacting professionally with thought leaders, external subject-matter experts, faculty, meeting participants, authors, and other stakeholders
- Lead discussions for planning or other calls and for meetings with external experts
- Assist onsite with presentations, meeting preparation, and meeting execution Exhibit a professional appearance, be courteous, and demonstrate an ability to provide solutions
- Provide strategic direction and analysis for sales initiatives and to contribute to organic growth of existing accounts
- Assist with developing proposals and sales presentations
- Participate in sales presentations and pitches
- Partner with the Client Services Lead, provide leadership on internal teams for assigned accounts
- Collaborate with internal resources, including Learning Solutions, Client Services, Creative Services, Project Management, and Finance
- Accurately estimate time needed to complete work so that team members can manage timelines and budgets
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD) in Biomedical Sciences
- 5 years’ experience as a medical director at a medical communications agency
- Strong medical writing ability
- Experience developing content for promotional, disease awareness, and training programs, including slide kits, advisory board meetings, workshops, executive summaries, monographs, videos, animations, MOA/MOD illustrations, and interactive digital programs
- Willingness and ability to quickly master a new therapeutic category or disease state
- Expertise with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint (MS Suite)
- General therapeutic category knowledge
- Experience in a clinical setting is helpful

- Competitive pay and opportunities to advance. The anticipated starting pay for this role is between $145,000 - $165,000 annually, based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and location. You may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses. We review compensation annually and evaluate readiness for promotions every quarter.
