The Role
JPA is actively seeking a VP of Finance to join our dynamic and collaborative agency. As a key member of the senior leadership team and deputy to the CFO, Chris Sousa, the VP Finance will play an instrumental role in the continued growth of JPA Health, including driving operational improvement across the various business units, to ensure consistency and efficiency when it comes to ways of working, process and systems.
The VP Finance will lead a team of 4, coaching and developing the Finance team, therefore prior experience of building and developing high quality teams is of particular interest.
This position is a hybrid role reporting to the Washington, DC office twice per week.

The Responsibilities
Strategic
- Help to set the strategy for the Finance team in line with JPA's strategy and in partnership with the CFO.
- Responsible for financial performance management across divisions/business units, ensuring data accuracy and integrity in accordance with month-end, quarterly and yearly reporting requirements.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis and valuable insights to the CFO, CEO and the entire management team, leading on effective tracking of projects to provide clear information into their profitability and return on investment (ROI).
- Lead on strategic business planning, developing financial models that inform and direct investment into people, services, and overall business development activity.
- Initiate and lead transformation projects aimed at improving business performance by working with key stakeholders such as the CFO, CEO, Board, Shareholders and external partners.
- Act as a technology ambassador in the group, providing senior leadership for the implementation of a new ERP and other technology systems that support automation and efficiency.
- Provide critical support for financing activities and equity transactions, contributing to JPA's strategic financial planning and execution.
- Lead the evolution of accounting practices to embrace new business models and propositions, and acquisitions, setting the financial framework for future growth.
- Oversee JPAs internal controls, safeguarding against financial risk and ensuring operational excellence.
- Ensure all accounts and reports are in line with legal and regulatory
- Act as senior liaison with external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and addressing findings proactively in partnership with the CFO.
- Oversee tax-related matters, mitigating any business risks or liabilities applicable to the business.
- Oversee legal entity related filing and compliance
- Lead risk management and mitigation including commercial insurance levels and
- Oversee the delivery of timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual
- Direct the consolidation of JPA's financial activities, ensuring a cohesive financial narrative across all business units.
- Ensure the preparation of budgets, forecasts and business
- Overall leadership of the FP&A process (including the management of Director, FP&A)
- Lead, coach, and inspire a dedicated team of Finance and Accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the Finance team is scalable and sustainable in line with the growth of the
- Ensure the team have a structured task-led approach to enable all deadlines to be met and to ensure that financial information is always produced to a high
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Demonstratable recent experience as a Finance leader in a Professional Services
- Experience in entrepreneurial environments comfortable and capable of working in fast paced organizations.
- A proven track record of building high performing Finance teams in growth
- Experience and understanding of KPl's in Professional Services environments looking at different utilization metrics, staffing data and ways to improve overall efficiencies.
- Demonstrated competence in Accounting (debits and credits) and experience of leading Accounting teams.
- Experience of implementing rigorous and disciplined financial controls, financial management systems, and performance measures/metrics that benchmark performance and create accountability.
- Provides high-quality metrics around planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Forward looking, strategic mind capable of analyzing past data and real-time KPls and making forward looking recommendations.
- Business partners with the CFO, CEO and leadership team fully understanding the business and providing deeper analytical and financial ability to the leadership team to further improve strategic execution.
- Acts as a forward-thinking analyst of markets and the competitive landscape.
- An excellent "people person" with strong integrity, a desire to contribute to greater societal good, and a servant-hearted mentality.
- A natural leader who fosters an honest, collaborative environment, both within Finance and across the organization.

- Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration highly
- CPA
- Prior experience of managing tax affairs
- Experience of implementing ERP systems desirable
- Prior experience of M&A and integration work including credit agreement management highly desirable

The anticipated starting pay for this role is between $195,000 and $240,000 annually, based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and location. You may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses. We review compensation annually and evaluate readiness for promotions every quarter.
