Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineer concepts and 5 years applied experience
- Experienced in programming languages Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Python and automated application deployment and management technologies such as CI/CD including Maven and Jenkins.
- Demonstrated storng experience in database technologies, such as SQL and NoSQL offerings
- Demonstrated understanding of Infrastructure Platforms, virtualization, global solutions, and modern distributed solutions
- Experience and sound understanding of micro services and event-driven solutions
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, design, security and testing
- Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages (Java, Python, Go)
- Proficiency in advanced testing and API development, management experience
- Keen understanding of code management, code build and deployment strategies
- Demonstrate strong Infrastructure background with 3 years’ experience in Broadcom VMware or Redhat OpenShift or similar.
- Provide technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, implementation and delivery
