DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Perform data discovery work to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources to help develop various types of data-driven products/initiatives. Understand and translate business needs into tangible, technical tasks to support long-term strategic objectives. Work with Product and Data Owners, Technology and Design Partners to advance integrity and capabilities of data-ecosystem. Provide oversight and track initiatives to completion, clearly articulate progress, and risks to Stakeholders. Collaborate with key Stakeholders and Business to ensure their foundational data needs are being addressed. Collaborate with team members, both to build out specific projects and to continuously teach and learn new technology and techniques. Provide recommendations on suitable data solutions, structures and / or processes in clear, concise terms to both technical development teams and non-technical Stakeholders. Mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in the project development lifecycle with respect to data. Manage cross-functional relationships to foster a culture of innovation and ensure the successful adoption of Data Management methodologies. Mentoring junior members of the team and interfacing with business leaders. Working with cross-functional teams, such as Data Technology, Data Scientist, Product Owners, Marketing, and Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data & Analytics or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Developing robust data products utilizing modernized ETL technologies including Python, JAVA, Snowflake, PySpark and AWS services; Hadoop; Teradata; Oracle; Microsoft SQL DBs; AWS cloud solutions including S3, RDS, Athena, and Aurora; developing complex SQL store procedures that can dynamically feed data into Operational Reporting; AWS Redshift; Tableau; SSRS; PowerBI; data governance, data quality management, and data architecture; explaining and converting complex concepts into digestible information; Agile methodology; Project Development Methodologies; and project management techniques and practices.
