DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Contribute to the portfolio’s excess return through individually generated investment ideas. Conduct in-depth fundamental analysis, build proprietary financial models and develop forecasts for individual companies. Primary research coverage of the U.S.Consumer Discretionary and Consumer Staples, along with several other possible sectors/sub sectors, for the Managed Equities Portfolio (MEP) and the Multi-Asset CIO portfolios. Pitch individual investment ideas to Portfolio Manager and the broader team. Use different valuation methodologies to develop price targets for individual stocks, which inform investment and allocation decisions within the portfolios. Meet with and interview management teams, attend industry conferences, and speak to sell-side analysts throughout the research process to help build a differentiated view on companies within the US Consumer Discretionary and US Consumer Staples sectors, along with a variety of other U.S. sectors as well. Collaborate with quantitative analysis colleagues before proposing investment ideas to understand portfolio implications of certain trades.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or Fundamental Equity Research, AWM Program Analyst, Wealth Management Solutions Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Financial Modeling including Income statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Discounted Case Flow building and Total Addressable Market analysis; Valuation Experience including Price to Earnings ratio relative to the market, Enterprise value / Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation & Amortization, Sum of the Parts analysis, and Discounted Cash Flow; Conducting meetings with and interviewing company management teams in a one on one or small group setting; Quantitative Screening including valuation screens, fundamental screens, and regression analysis; Writing up and Pitching individual investment ideas and single stocks.
