As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology - Mainframe team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2 years applied experience
- Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: JCL, REXX, zOSMF Workflows
- Experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems
- Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication
- Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs using Swagger (or similar framework)
- Working experience with CICS systems programming experience in a mainframe z/OS operating system and experience on USS (Unix System Services), CICS TS – Installation and Migration, SVC and Transaction dump debugging, CICS Performance Tuning, CICS-related ISV tools - Mainview, Abend-Aid, Expediter, Configuration Manager, CAFC, SYSB II and Merva
- Experience working on IBM Program Product installation – SMP/e (Software Management Program/ extended)
