As a Strategic Analyst within the Credit Risk Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure we operate within established risk parameters and achieve long-term performance goals for our cards business. Your primary focus will be on the waterfall income strategy, determining the best source of income to assess affordability and risk across portfolio proactive strategies. You will also generate insightful analytics and provide effective challenges and recommendations related to the customer exposure strategy. We are looking for someone who is proactive, has a passion for continuous learning and is naturally curious.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive analytics to measure and challenge key business initiatives and be able to generate solutions/recommendations
- Work with various teams to identify and assess performance trends, utilizing both statistical, data mining tools (i.e. SAS, Python or similar coding languages) and quantitative methodologies
- Conduct root cause analysis to provide clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership and various stakeholders
- Prepare and present detailed risk monitoring reports to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of findings
- Support the development and maintenance of the company’s risk management framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor internal and external behavioral data along with public information on industry trends, regulatory changes, and credit risk management best practices to continuously improve risk management processes
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Demonstrate expertise in structuring and executing analyses using strong analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in translating complex analysis into actionable solutions and crafting concise presentations with sound business conclusions
- Skilled in presenting findings effectively to various levels of management
- Quick adaptability to new tools and technologies, with a proactive mindset for learning and implementing innovative solutions
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (such as Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, among others)
- A results-driven mindset with a strong attention to detail and possess the drive to succeed
