As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank , you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation contact for L2 and L3 support teams, handling critical incidents and ensuring timely resolution.
- Collaborate with SRE, Development, and Operations teams to prevent the recurrence of major incidents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters, deployments, and networking.
- Define and refine alerts, dashboards, and logging strategies for proactive issue detection.
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to support deployment and maintenance activities.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles for troubleshooting.
- Develop and enhance automation scripts to reduce manual intervention.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years of applied experience
- Experience in L2 & L3 support, SRE, or DevOps roles.
- Experience in handling client-facing applications.
- Experience with Kubernetes (troubleshooting, deployment, networking, and scaling).
- Expertise in monitoring and observability tools like Dynatrace, Datadog, Apica, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OTel2
- Solid understanding of incident management.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with log management and analysis for debugging production issues.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Bash, Go, etc.).
